Despite these increases at auctions managed by the Federation of Belgian Horticultural Cooperatives, tomato prices remain lower than the five-year average.
In contrast, cucumber prices have been consistently above the five-year average. For several weeks now, cucumber prices have also exceeded last year’s levels, with the average price for week 8 standing at 67.6 euro cents per unit.
Cabbage lettuce, however, continues to have a low average price, maintaining this trend throughout the year. For week 8, the unit price was 31 euro cents.
Strawberry prices have also been below the five-year average in recent weeks, with the price per kilogram at 8.60 euros.
