A newly released study, provided at no cost by UC Agriculture and Natural Resources, UC Cooperative Extension, and the UC Davis Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, offers estimates on costs and potential returns associated with cultivating raspberries on the Central Coast of California.
This comprehensive study outlines a management scenario for a 45-acre farm, with 42 acres dedicated to raspberry cultivation. It details cultural practices involved in establishing, producing, and harvesting raspberries, covering aspects such as land preparation, soil fertility, pest management, irrigation, and labor requirements. The 36-page report breaks down costs for each operation, material inputs and associated expenses, as well as cash and non-cash overhead costs, presented in various formats across three production years.
