Protesters in Spain redirect trucks carrying vegetables to their depot

Following the protests in France and Belgium, demonstrations have now spread to Spain. Over the past 24 hours, protesters in Spain have been stopping trucks from Morocco and Senegal. The activists take control of the vehicles and drive them to local depots, where they turn off the refrigeration and leave the doors open. The timing of when these trucks might be allowed to leave is uncertain,” according to a Dutch importer.
At this stage, we are uncertain if we will receive these shipments in the Netherlands at all. Even if they do arrive, there are concerns about the viability of the produce due to the prolonged period with the cooling off. Apart from the financial implications, the delays and interruptions in shipments mean that we are unable to fulfill all customer orders completely. We are hopeful that this situation will be resolved soon,” the importer concludes.
